I SALUTE THEE TEACHER

" A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others. "

Gurubrahma,

Guruvishnu,
Gurudevo Maheshwara,
Gurushatshath Parabrahmah Thasmaishri ,
Guruvae Namaha !

I salute thee my teacher.

You are Brahma, you are Vishnu and you are Maheshwar. Such was the devotion the students had for the teacher in ancient India. Matha, Pitha and Guru – that is the order. The teacher is next to mother and father. Father and mother – they give birth; but the teacher – he shows the way and leads a student from darkness into light through thick jungles and dark.

Who is a teacher?

A teacher is a precious companion, a mother part time. She patches up the bruises and wipes away the tears. She is a very good listener, a playmate at recess. A teacher is laughter and a child’s dearest friend.

We celebrate teachers day in India, a day on which respect and affection is accorded to our teachers. The day it falls on September 5th, is the birth anniversary of Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, former president and a much loves and respected teacher.

Students might become doctors, engineers, politicians or anything else, but do we celebrate a doctors’ day or an engineers’ day or a ministers’ day? ... because no other profession acts a ladder for the others growth...except the Teaching !

Teachers are the world’s light. They direct our energy, teach us to honour truth in work and play, help us build the right foundation here and give us ideals to live with everyday. Our beloved teachers, you love us, you lead us, you make us wise, you make us good and you are our ladders...but even when we reach miles, you are always the same ?
